KNUSPR is part of the WAZ project developed for Greyfield in Essen. The overall development focuses on transforming an existing industrial building into a sustainable and flexible environment prepared for long-term new uses. The approach is based on the consistent reuse of the original structure, minimizing resource consumption and additional CO₂ emissions. A life-cycle CO₂ certificate enables transparent evaluation of the project’s climate impact and supports data-driven decision-making throughout the design process.
Within KNUSPR, we carried out the conversion and extension of a warehouse for use as an online supermarket distribution facility. The project combined comprehensive interior refurbishment with a new extension, optimizing workflows, spatial organization, and operational efficiency for intensive logistical use.
Developed for Greyfield, the project covers approximately 15,000 m² and emphasizes intelligent reuse of the existing structure. The intervention significantly improved capacity and functionality, extended the building’s lifespan, and adapted it to current e-commerce logistics standards.
